The industrial production of US Women’s Music relied upon a complex and sprawling infrastructure of distributors, technicians and concert and festival producers. At the 1980s , for politics and business perspective, the political concept of the Women’s Music industry understood from the point of view of distributors in Europe was envisioned as a way to explore different ways of doing business. Creating institutional and business structures where women could learn the processes and skills of
economic independence was central to the ideology of the Women’s Music industry. Women’s music label were largely produced by label companies and numbers are tracked every week. Thinking Anthropologically About Gender
One of concepts I can think about is that gender is socially constructed. People created the word “gender”, people also created some certain thoughts on gender. Like what does a boy should do and what does a boy shouldn’t do. This will also influence people’s mind in every industry, people are expected each gender perform their role and will not accept people who does differently as their gender should do. In the pop music industry, women are supposed to be a attractive person, people care about how they wear, what food do they eat and how they body look like, many women singers are care about how others think of them and try to show the “best” to their fans and the public. In Korea, a woman singer who wore a tank top without a bra when she on live with her fans. People discussed her on social media, some people even called her a “slut”, she didn't care too much, as the issue gone viral on multiple social media. More people are started saying negative about her. She tried show the public she is positive about those comments and moved on. However, she was committed suicide couple months after that issue, she has been sent a lot of letters to her home to threaten her to death because of she is not doing what a woman singer supposed to do.
